Dandruff Treatment

If you find flakes in your hair, you know how much it bothers you. It may not be a serious condition, but it can be awfully embarrassing. I don’t have dandruff all year long, but I tend to get dry scalp in the winter that I have to deal with. Luckily for me, my problems are small, and a simple twice a week dandruff treatment seems to take care of my problems. If you have something more troubling, you may have to work at it a little harder than I do.

My dandruff treatment is using a shampoo twice a week. It seems to keep the problem at bay, though there are times when I have to use it a little more often. My husband has dandruff, so I just use his Selsun Blue when I think I need to do it. I don’t like to use it every day because it dries out my hair, but it does work well when I do use it. Though Head and Shoulders works just fine as a dandruff treatment for me, it does not work on my husband’s head. It’s far more inexpensive for me to just use his rather than having to buy two different bottles each time.

If you use a drug store shampoo for a dandruff treatment but you still find that you have problems, you may need to see your doctor. There are prescription dandruff treatment shampoos that are stronger than the ones you can buy on the shelf. These will need to be use per directions, and you should always talk to your doctor about what is going on. There may be some side effects to your scalp if the dandruff treatment is too strong or perhaps you are told to use it more often then you should.

Though I am sure there is a natural dandruff treatment out there, I don’t know what it is. I do know that if you get a brush that massages your scalp, you can help eliminate some of the problem, but you will still have the flakes. If you have long hair, this might not work for you because the flakes can get caught in your hair. Brushing a few times a day may help, but remember that it is not an answer if you have a problem on a daily basis. Dandruff shampoo treatment works pretty well, so don’t worry about wasting your money. That is one product that does what it claims.
